Barton Park

Another excellent weekend at Barton Park. We had around 15+ families there, plus friends/family who came out for the day/evening. It really is a little piece of heaven for kids, and for us adults too. We truly look forward to this weekend all year. Gwen was old enough this year where she could run off with the big kids and play at the park, spent hours and hours on her strider bike, decorated all over the road with chalk and played with her cousins and dear friends morning till dark. In fact, she had so much fun, it seemed as though she forgot how to use the potty. Let's just say she ended up in a diaper everyday. Lovely! She was so tired at the end of each night, that it was no problem putting her to bed. Oscar is at a harder age, but this year my family set up a "play area" under an awning that was gated in, we had a play structure and other toys in there for the young-ins. It was a hit, even the older kids played in there. ;)  He did great out of the play area too, he stayed close and any time I couldn't find him, he'd be in Todd/Jacki/Davis' and the Anderson's campsite bustin' a move to their music or petting the puppies. They had THREE dogs in that campsite. So any time we couldn't find either of our kids we went straight to the dogs, and there they were. Have I mentioned my kids LOVE animals?
Our good friends Dave & Erin Linthorst moved to Medford, Oregon just a few months ago and they were able to come join the fun.  We were neighbors for a couple of years when we lived in Salt Lake until they moved in 07 for law school. It was so fun to see them and actually spend a few days together. We have missed them. We're keeping our fingers crossed that eventually, we will one day be neighbors again. A girl can hope, right? ;)
A weekend with BOTH of our lovely families, wonderful friends & delicious food... what could be better?

It's hard to see, but if you look to where the blue arrow is pointing, there is a remote helicopter and the kids loved trying to chase it.
The Play area...

Until next year, Barton.
Xoxo
