Christmas

This is quite late, but I had to document about our Christmas day. More for myself, than anyone reading this.. but read away, if you'd like. ;)

Christmas Morning!
We woke up Christmas morning and got all ready for 10:00AM Church. It actually worked out perfectly, since both Gwen & Oscar sleep in till 9:00 or so, so we woke them up and got them ready for church and we were off. I'm not sure if they even saw the presents. We got home just after 11:00 or so had our first little Christmas, just the 4 of us. I loved it. They were the cutest! I loved watching them open their gifts.. their smiles, giggles and squeals of delight. Gwen was super happy about her new pink boots (Thanks Shauna) and also her Bolt that she got from Santa. Oscar was pleased with everything, including the wrapping paper.
After our own little Christmas we headed to the Ricker pad, opened more gifts and visited with everyone & also Skyped with Jade who is on his mission in AZ. Then it was off to the Arnell's where they yet again, opened more gifts. Spoiled, I tell you! We ate dinner with the Arnells, and spent more time with family.
Quite the perfect day, if you ask me.

Gwen and her new Bolt. She carries him around everywhere

The morning after Christmas Jay found her down the stairs enjoying her new Tea Set with Bolt

Gwen started covering her mouth when she laughed.. we think she got this from her cousin Sawyer

New Years!
For New Years Eve day we headed to Top Flyte to jump on all these fun toys. Chummy LOVES this place and wanted the kids to go with him one last time before his mission. The kids had a blast. They have lots of fun things for the kids to do, trampolines, foam to jump into, swings... it is super fun!

For New Years I have zero pictures. What?! But we celebrated at my parents with all of my Oregon siblings. We spent the evening eating and socializing, then put the kids down for bed there. Then Jay and I headed to a Youth New Years Dance, Jay was in charge of clean up. We got there then realized that it's Church dress only. Dang. We're both in jeans and a t-shirts. We walked to the door and a bunch of kids were standing outside, they had been "kicked out" for not dressing appropriate.. (And I thought they looked nice). We kind of felt bad to walk in there as "leaders", while the kids that were outside were dressed nicer than us, and stuck outside. So we got back into the car and we were going to wait till midnight, then head inside to clean up. Then quickly decided to drive to a near by neighborhood on a hill that overlooked the city in hope to see some fireworks. We found the perfect spot.. literally drove right to it. Lucky, as we were in a less familiar area. We hung out for a few minutes, listing to Beatles  and then midnight hit and the fireworks began. It was actually quite perfect.
After 10 minutes or so, we headed back and cleaned up the dance. Drove to my parents and picked up the kids and went home. It was a wonderful New Years Eve. Love my kids to death.. but it sure is nice to have a night out with my Jaylo all to myself. =)
